Tim Ho Wan (MTR Hong Kong Station)- Central, Hong Kong

A visit to Hong Kong entails a list of places to visit-- Tim Ho W an, a Mic hel in starred dim sum restaurant chain also widely known as the cheapest Mic helin starred di m sum, was on that list. We found one outlet conveniently located at the MTR Hong Kong Station , nestled beneath the large IFC Mall in Central , Hong Kong, and chec ked it out during a weekday lunch. The ca veat of the weekday lunch, however, is t hat the office workers nearby head down toward s IFC Mall for many delicious eate ries. Tim Ho Wan, as a result, was pack ed, with long queues for sitting inside the restaurant. Unwilling to wait, we d ecided t o order to-go, and enjoy the food at our hotel room instead. After filling out a menu sheet, paying for the ite ms, and waiting fo r only a short period of time, we were on our way t o en joying some dim sum.

Cathay Pacific CX 391: PEK - HKG Premium Economy

After some time in Beijing, I moved onto a visit to Hong Kong, given that I hadn't visited in several years. Time has flown so fast that I haven't even been able to post about lots of the restaurants I visited in Hong Kong last time! Check-in for Cathay Pacific is done at Terminal 3. This flight in particular was also a Air China codeshare flight, but check-in was was preferably only done at Cathay Pacific.

Asiana Airlines OZ 333: ICN - PEK Travel Class

After an eventful seven hours at Incheon International Airport , it was time to go on-board my next flight to go to Beijing. Asiana Airlines Flight OZ 333 June 3, 2014 Service from Incheon International Airport (ICN) nonstop to Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) Travel Class (Economy) The cabin of this Asiana Airlines A330 actually happened to be slightly newer than that of the Boeing 777 I traveled on earlier.     Seats in this case did have an adjustable headrest. Furthermore, there was an in-flight entertainment remote that guided the Audio Video on Demand system, which did have a good selection of movies, music, and games on offer. The entertainment screens may have looked the same, but you could do a lot more with this system. One option was available for lunch: a beef and pepper stir-fry with sweet and sour pork with rice. What was special was that an aloe drink was on offer as a beverage--this was nicely sweet, with a light grape flavo...

Wuyutai Tea- Wangfujing, Dongcheng District, Beijing, China: Jasmine and Matcha Soft-Serve Ice Cream (and a comparison to McDonald's version)

During the summer, in the touristy shopping area of Wangfujing, one will quickly notice two things: 1. Lots of people are enjoying ice cream cones. At least half, or greater, have green tea flavored soft-serve ice cream in them. 2. There is one place that sustains a long line at its storefront throughout the day: Wuyutai Tea. But what is this line for? And more importantly, why are people waiting for about 5 minutes to reach the storefront for? Ice cream! More specifically, soft-serve jasmine tea and matcha ice cream for 6 RMB/CNY/yuan, or approximately 1 USD, with a per person limit of only two cones. That may sound cheap, but you need to compare to its local competitors. McDonald's green tea ice cream (offered as is or with a swirl with vanilla ice cream) cone costs 4 RMB each, and if you get two, the second is currently 50 percent off, making each cone worth only 3 RMB. Or in other words, you could get two McDonald's ice cream cones for the same price as one...
