Eat. Travel. Eat!

Happy 2011! Sure, this post is a day late, but unlike some previous Decembers, 2010's December had two fun weeks of traveling in Asia- not only just 2000+ pictures taken and lots of places visited, but lots of things learned as well. Guess where I took this picture from! Click on the photo for the answer. :) I hope everyone has had a great 2010 and I hope that 2011 will be an even better year moving forward. 2010 saw some differences in the blog compared to 2009/2008, mainly an increase in traffic during the summer months and a new record in daily visits! (378) I can see now that there are some patterns: popular places and expensive places are quite well liked by visitors on this site. Some things do not change however. The year came to a end just as quickly as before, maybe even quicker. And my schedule has been becoming busier and busier, allowing me less time to write posts. If wishing you a happy new year via the sidebar and the Pelican Hill post was not enough, how about a real Happy New Year post? Welcoming in 2010 was quite different compared to last year. Last year, for me, was a major year of new things, new people, and learning opportunities. Going to a new school as well a summer college class, taking almost 8000 photos, running a blog, using Photoshop, and becoming a DE on Tripadvisor were all things I have never done before. It was also a year of inspirations. Summer brought in the inspiration to write and be more enthusiastic of what I did in life, leading to really different (in my opinion) ways of thinking. To the blog, it meant less quantity, more quality. More descriptions and thoughts. A "this was good" would not just do anymore for me. I don't even get why I was saying that back then earlier during the year, as I am a fanatic of elaborate descriptions. :) And October brought in photography and camera into the works. The year ...

Exterior Signage It's one of the two dim sum places in Arcadia, but this one seems busier. Why? Location? Hey, it has a C (!!!!!!!) from the Health Department, but we haven't been here for a while. Especially dinner. We see friends here tonight, but after all it is New Year's Eve, which many people should be outside celebrating. We find here though not full at all. And so, we eat here. We have had great experiences with their dim sum; it is flavorful, served in big portions, and costs less than if you ate in San Gabriel or that part of the SGV. Definitely a recommended dim sum place- and the water chestnut cake, XO rice noodle roll, char-siu bao, and taro buns are to us the best items there. But how about dinner? Everyone knows about the 9.99 peking duck (outside of the store has an ad on it), but how are the other items? We know the peking duck is delectable, but what else is too? "Stop Talking ETE! Food! Food! Food!" comes shouting from somewhere. And so, let...
