Fresh & Easy Tart Nonfat Frozen Yogurt and Dark Chocolate Gelato

Happy Thanksgiving folks! I know I have not posted in quite a while, and I am thankful to your continuing readership.  But getting back on topic, do you remember last year's post on Trader Joe's Plain Non-fat Frozen Yogurt ? Well, recently Fresh and Easy decided to also offer their version of the Trader Joe's product, and thus I went to pick one of them up to fill the dollar amount for their 5 dollar coupon. The cost, if I remember correctly is about the same as Trader Joe's, plus or minus 50 cents. The taste is also very similar to Trader Joe's version. I would assume both were made by the same factory. Both are "pleasantly tart" and sweet enough (with the use of corn syrup) so that you do not need any extra sweetener. I did find this less firm compared to Trade Joe's version and a bit creamier in taste. Otherwise, they are all the same. So, need ideas for dessert while you are waiting for your turkey to bake today? Get a quart of this Fresh and ...

China Garden- Irvine

Like I said in my post on A&J Restaurant-Irvine , we wanted to visit China Garden as we have been there before with good impressions. So unlike Arcadia's Full House or Hop Li. They would have been filled with customers already due to the holiday! The interior was quite simple with a bland color scheme. The chairs pretty much added the pop of color needed. Our table was als...

Pelican Grill- Newport Coast (Thanksgiving Prix-Fixe Dinner)

Since everyone is talking Thanksgiving dinner right now, I'll give you my glimpse on my Thanksgiving dinner. And yes, my posts on Orange County restaurants/hotels will be out of order as the special stuff should be mentioned first after months of HK cafe postings and some product reviews. I'll give you the final order of my two OC trips in a week in index pages. Anyway, moving on now... The Resort at Pelican Hill, offered us a special package (American Express offer) of a room with a 20% certificate (of the room's value) back for spa/dining use. So, since it was Thanksgiving after all, why not have a Thanksgiving meal? Pelican Grill offered a three course menu with several different choices so we went. Andrea? Although it too also had a three course menu, we were not in the mood for a Thanksgiving dinner with an Italian twist, and plus, Edwin Goei of Monster Munching / author at the OC Weekly said it had great service but also had varying food, some being great while ...
