Asiana Airlines OZ 333: ICN - PEK Travel Class

After an eventful seven hours at Incheon International Airport , it was time to go on-board my next flight to go to Beijing. Asiana Airlines Flight OZ 333 June 3, 2014 Service from Incheon International Airport (ICN) nonstop to Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) Travel Class (Economy) The cabin of this Asiana Airlines A330 actually happened to be slightly newer than that of the Boeing 777 I traveled on earlier.     Seats in this case did have an adjustable headrest. Furthermore, there was an in-flight entertainment remote that guided the Audio Video on Demand system, which did have a good selection of movies, music, and games on offer. The entertainment screens may have looked the same, but you could do a lot more with this system. One option was available for lunch: a beef and pepper stir-fry with sweet and sour pork with rice. What was special was that an aloe drink was on offer as a beverage--this was nicely sweet, with a light grape flavo...

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong 2010: Interiors

Four months later I am now almost complete with all the background information for Island Shangri-La on this trip! That was long, was it not? This is the last section of interior pictures on Island Shangri-La other than Cafe Too, and after this I'll be rolling in the much more interesting posts on food, attractions and more from the trip up to a certain point. I don't have Restaurant Petrus or the Horizon Club lounges included in any of these pictures but other than that you'll have a broad understanding of the actual floors with hotel rooms in them! The picture above is of the hallway to the rooms. The rooms followed the elliptical shape of the building and for most of the 16 levels were located throughout the entire floor. However, some floors included other rooms in addition to regular guest rooms, li...

Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong 2010: Deluxe Rooms

After checking in, we went to look at our rooms before having breakfast yet again at Cafe Too. Usually, as stated in my earlier post , someone will bring you up to your room, but since we were already past guests here we chose to go up just by ourselves. We had two rooms this time- one double beds and one king. The double room offered a view of the peak, and was much smaller in comparison to the king room. In addition, being on a lower floor (40th) meant that some amenities were of a lower quality- for example, the plates and tea cups were blue/pink and white while the ones on the upper floors were newer with a simple gold and white. So, definitely request a room on the higher levels. If you booked a Horizon Club room, no need to worry, as you are definitely getting the rooms on the highest floors already. With Shangri-La here, the rooms have been kept to have a feel of classic, old-style luxury. Even though the rooms have been renovated almost half a decade ago, they decided to ...
