Day 6: Walking Around Wan Chai- Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Hong Kong Arts Centre, Yoshinoya

With the holidays comes a plethora of various expos in Hong Kong, and so after breakfast we decided to head towards the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) to visit the game expo. There, we found out there was not only just the game expo, but also lots of other festivals/expos like the Hong Kong Food Festvial. The expos however were already quite full; there were plenty of attendees-- a wide variety of cosplay donned on some people, and cameras on other people like yours truly. Instead of attending an expo like we had planned, we instead decided to walk around and explore the area. Right outside HKCEC is Golden Bahunia Square/Expo Promenade, where the Golden Bahunia is located. This sculpture commemorates the return of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China and the formation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; but other than that, it's a beautiful piece of architecture to look at and to take pictures of! Seemingly popular these days, the...

Day 2: Chiu Hing Noodles House- Wan Chai, Hong Kong

Not really inspired to buy anything at the Wan Chai Computer Centre, we headed off for some food, walking around to find some restaurants nearby. After walking several blocks, we saw a restaurant with So Sze Wong (蘇施黃)'s of TVB's So Good' s picture plastered on the wall-- having watched Ms. So so long on TVB, we thought, "why not try one of her visited restaurants?" So, we walked in and had a seat. There were menus inside on each table highlighting all the noodle options in English and Chinese; on the wall was a larger menu written with Chinese characters only, with some more options other than noodles like congee and various plates. Since this noodle house seemed to feature their fish balls quite a bit, that was what we ordered. This noodle soup was a special that was listed on a piece of paper- some spicy meat sauce (?) with fishballs and mai fun noodle soup. It also came with a cup of soy milk which although was refreshing, the cup did not exactly smel...

Day 2: 利強記北角雞蛋仔 (Lee Keung Kee North Point Eggette)- Wan Chai, Hong Kong

After some rest, we headed out towards Wan Chai in search for the Wan Chai Computer Centre. This was an easy ride- rather than going on the MTR, we went out through the "Ding Ding" tram-- a fun option if you want to see the city while utilizing transportation.   Not exactly knowing where we needed to take off from the tram, I asked the driver and he was very friendly in informing me where I should get off. When we arrived at the correct stop, he even beckoned us to leave the tram-- a very nice gesture! Two Hong Kong Dollars later per person (one dollar for children or seniors) we were off to a great evening walk.  Arriving at our destination, we did not head into the Wan Chai Computer Centre immediately as right next door were plenty of food outlets, ranging from fast food outlets like McDonalds to bakeries and full service restaurants. Also right next door was this vendor: 利強記北角雞蛋仔. I've previously coined it as North Point Hong Kong Egg Waffles but a c...
